Federal Judge Rules Ministers’ Housing Allowance Unconstitutional

On October 6, 2017, a federal judge in Madison, Wisconsin struck down the Ministers’ Housing Allowance as unconstitutional.

Currently, the ruling only applies to ministers in three states: Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. But the case is being appealed and could potentially having far-reaching consequences for ministers across the country.
